HOW NEUROFEEDBACK WORKS
A brain-based approach to lasting change.
What Neurofeedback Is
A non-invasive, brain-based training process.
Neurofeedback works directly with your brain’s electrical activity—supporting regulation at the level where patterns are formed. Over time, calm, clarity, and stability become more natural.
What It Supports
- Improved sleep
- Reduced anxiety
- Emotional stability
- Improved focus
- A more consistent sense of calm
How It Works
Sensors placed on the scalp measure brain activity in real time. The brain receives feedback and begins to adjust—gradually shifting toward more balanced patterns.
This is not something you force.
It is a process the brain learns.

Your Starting Point:
The Brain Map
What It Is
- A measurement of brainwave activity
- A guide for personalized training
A brain map, or quantitative electroencephalogram (qEEG), is a non-invasive assessment that records and analyzes the brain’s electrical activity (brainwaves). This information is compared to established normative databases to identify patterns of over- or under-activation and connectivity that may be contributing to challenges with regulation, attention, mood, or cognitive functioning. While it is not used to diagnose, it provides objective data that helps guide individualized neurofeedback training and track changes in brain function over time.
What It Is Not
- A diagnosis
- A label
- A measure of intelligence
Neurofeedback Programs
Lasting nervous system change does not happen in a single session.
It occurs gradually, over time, through consistent and repeated training.
For this reason, neurofeedback is offered in structured programs rather than as one-time sessions.
Programs range from 20 to 60 sessions depending on your goals and clinical needs. We determine the best fit during your consultation, based on your goals, history, and how your nervous system is currently responding. For individuals with long-standing or complex trauma, we often plan in extended phases of care. When the nervous system has been patterned around survival for years, meaningful change requires consistency and safety over time. Each program is designed to build on the last, allowing your brain to gradually shift out of survival patterns and into more stable, regulated functioning.
There is no pressure to commit beyond what feels appropriate — we approach this step-by-step.

Neurofeedback Training
For some clients, training can continue from the comfort of home using a clinician-guided system.
This option is introduced after initial in-office work, allowing us to understand your nervous system patterns and ensure that training remains safe and effective in a home setting.
At-home neurofeedback may be appropriate for clients who:
- Have demonstrated stability during initial training
- Are comfortable using basic technology
- Can follow structured guidance independently
- Have a support person available to assist with electrode setup, if needed
All home training includes ongoing clinical oversight, individualized protocol adjustments, and regular check-ins to support progress.
Eligibility is determined on an individual basis to ensure safety and effectiveness.
